For General and OBC category candidates, the application fee is Rs. 250 + Rs. 20 Processing Fee. For the candidates belonging to SC/ST category, the fee is only Rs. 20 Processing fee. These fees are for candidates from West Bengal only.

The candidates must have an undergraduate bachelor’s degree from a recognized university to be eligible for the post of SI in West Bengal.

As the official notification has not yet been released for the year, it is possible that West Bengal Police SI Eligibility Criteria might be changed. But the chances for the same are quite slim. If any changes are announced, the same will be notified on the official website.

 

The upper age limit for this post is up to 27 years for general category candidates. There is a relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC category candidates.

Candidates are required to score 8 or more marks in the personality test to be eligible for selection for the advertised vacancies.

The exam can be conducted online mode or offline mode. This is totally dependent on the board. They can conduct the exam in any way they want to. The same will be notified on the official website of the board.

The selection proceedings consist of 5 stages viz. Preliminary exam, Physical measurement test, Physical efficiency test, Final Combined Competitive exam, and Personality test. The cut-off will be announced for each stage separately. There is no such provision for awarding extra merit points to the candidates who score more than the West Bengal Police SI Cut Off.

For candidates applying for SI posts in Gorkhas, Rajbanshis, Garwalis, and ST classes, the height required is 160 cm and 167 cm for other candidates except them. 

To qualify for the PET round, female candidates are required to cover a distance of 400 meters within 2 minutes.

To qualify for both the PET and PMT stages, candidates should train regularly, consume healthy food, sleep properly, and do daily freehand and running exercises using a stopwatch to assess their performance. The physical measurements must be kept intact as per category/class as failing to satisfy so will result in disqualification.

Candidates qualifying for both the Physical Test rounds are eligible to appear for the Final Combined Competitive Exam, which is succeeded by the Personality Test. All provisionally selected candidates will be called for a Medical exam, based on which the final enrollment is made.
