In your final year of Graduation, you need to pass the Combined Defence Services Exams, clear the SSB, be medically fit and join IMA as a Direct Entry if you come in merit. University Entry Scheme is for those of you who wish to apply for the Army in the Pre-Final/Final Year of Engineering.

From a class of 40 male cadets in 1932, IMA now has a sanctioned capacity of 1,650. Cadets undergo a training course varying between 3 and 16 months depending on entry criteria. On completion of the course at IMA cadets are permanently commissioned into the army as Lieutenants.

For IMA – Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January 1999 and not later than 1st January 2004 only are eligible. For Indian Naval Academy (INA) – Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January 1999 and not later than 1st January 2004 only are eligible.

The candidate applying for IMA & INA should not have been born later than 1st January 2005 and not earlier than 2nd January 2000. The candidate must be between 20-24 years as of 1st January 2024. The candidate should not have been born later than 1st January 2004 and not earlier than 2nd January 1998).

At the time of the training period, the candidates will be provided with a stipend of ₹ 56,100 per month.

There is nothing mentioned about the 12th marks. You just need to have a degree from a recognized university. I.M.A. and OTA: Degree of a recognized University or equivalent. Indian Naval Academy (INA): Degree in Engineering from a recognized university/institution.

On completion of training in IMA, candidates are offered the position of Lieutenant. After two years, they are granted the position of Captain. Likewise, candidates can reach the position of General based on their service period.

 

There should be no history or evidence of mental disease. a) Height-Minimum acceptable height is 157.5 cm relaxable to 1.52 cm in the case of Gorkhas, Assamese, Garhwalis, etc. b) Weight – Weight should be proportionate to the height of 157.5 in height, minimum weight should be 49.5 Kg.

If you have applied for IMA, INA, or AFA then it is mandatory to attempt Elementary Mathematics for CDS.

There are 100 seats for the CDS IMA.

In UPSC CDS (1) 2022, there are a total of 100 vacancies in the India Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun.

Mobile phones are allowed in Indian Military Academy, Dehradun (IMA) but during the free periods. You will not be allowed to use them during classes. Also, the schedule is that much packed that you will not get much time to use mobile phones.

 

The Salary ranges between INR 56,100 – 1,77,500 at the Lieutenant level (i.e. after completing training).

Yes for applying to CDS I.M.A you should have Physics and Maths as you in your class 12th.
